If the ACT were a dragon, this course basically taught me how to slay it.

This really boosted my confidence taking the ACT!!! Like I’m so grateful for this. Also shoutout to my goat reading/science teacher. She was awesome.

The reading and science sections had me really worried at first but after taking this camp I felt ready to face them with confidence.

It was extremely helpful and made me more confident in my act test taking. I liked the schedule and it was well paced.

It was tiring at first but considering my scores at the end it really helped. I thought the long hours were almost too much, but when I got my score for the posttest I realized it was necessary.

This course was very helpful in helping me better understand how to take the ACT and how to do well on it.

“I learned much about the ACT and boosted my score by several points in the post-test—comparably to the pre-test score.”

“When they say intense they mean it, but it’s worth it! I learned lots of strategies and ways to beat the ACT. It was a fun class with friends and [I got] a higher ACT score!”

“I was impressed to see my son looking forward to attending camp each day. [BYU Writing Camps] made it fun, and he had a chance to practice writing. Thank you!”

Adventure & Outdoor

I loved going on all the adventures (repelling, rafting, mountain biking, canyoneering, etc.), getting to know new people/make new friends, and receiving inspiration from the spirit.

I love the fact that it is for the youth to grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, and intellectually. It helped me in all those areas and I love the adventures and the opportunity to connect those adventures to my Savior and I loved making friends.

The activities where I had to trust my group were awesome. We did repelling and even though I was scared, they were all there cheering me on from the bottom.

I loved the rappelling activities and the zip lining. I also enjoyed the rafting. The many messages from the directors was also fabulous.

I loved the schedule of the day, and being able to wake up and listen to a spiritual thought and then go get breakfast and then have adventures and free time.

My group was amazing! We became "ohana" even after day one. I loved them as well as the activities and the spiritual devotionals and dances that we did.

The best part for me were the friends and the quality of the experience. I felt as if the overall structure and quality of the experience was better, including bedding, linens/towels, food, and backpacks. Because my group was smaller, I was able to build a stronger bond with people.

I found people just like me who share the same values. I truly felt the spirit through them! I loved being able to learn with people who understand me and being able to enjoy an experience away from home with amazing friends

I absolutely loved it all!! My counselors were amazing, the classes were phenomenal, the session director made it a point to get to know everyone, the dances were a blast, and morning study sessions were fantastic!

Dance

I enjoyed being able to dance in an environment where I have fun and the teachers and my peers are kind and respectful.

I absolutely loved the experience of dancing at my level and this camp has helped me connect with many friends.

I learned so much, it was so fun, and my dancing experience has really broadened.

Learning things at a super-fast pace was fun! I could basically feel myself growing everyday.

I love YASE so much! It has made me a better performer, person, and disciple of Christ!

All the counselors are absolutely amazing! They’re super friendly and super personable.

I learned more about the importance of my “why” to performing. I learned many new skills and techniques, and I've become a more confident performer.

Learning new styles of dance I had never tried really challenged me in a great way.

It was an amazing and fun experience where I met so many new friends and learned so many dances!

This camp was a fun way to learn about different cultures and dance and our counselor was the BEST EVER!

It was one of my most spiritual experiences because of the love we were all shown, the kindness and testimonies bared constantly by the counselors and teachers in the way they taught us, were patient and when they sang at the devotional before the banquet and shared messages the spirit was so strong! They brought it so well and my heart is so full! I am so very thankful for this experience.

This was one of the best weeks of my summer, I learned so much.

I enjoyed meeting new people who cared about my same beliefs and getting to dance.

I enjoyed being able to make so many amazing new friendships while doing the thing I love most.

My favorite part about Living Legends is probably not only focusing on my culture but also getting to know different meanings of other cultures and different things and how it is used and how special it is to them.

I enjoyed being able to make so many amazing new friendships while doing the thing I love most.

A whirlwind of choreo and fun activities with amazing friends!

One of the most incredible experiences I have ever been to. It truly has grown my testimony and grew my confidence to pursue theatre and singing as a career. I feel so comfortable at BYU in this environment!

“I learned to push myself, increased my confidence, and learned that I don't need to be the best in the room to still be incredible.”

"It was a pretty great experience. It pushed me—but not too much. [BYU Contemporary Dance Intensive] gave me a different experience than other places."

Expeditions

I honestly loved the whole thing. I loved the historical sites that we went to visit and I really appreciated all the opportunities given to bond with the people in my group and have spiritual discussions. Honestly some of my biggest questions were answered when we just had 15 minutes of private study and then some chats about it, and it made bonding with the group so much easier, and I felt like I built some really deep emotional bonds.

I loved being able to have experiences and learn through them instead of just learning in a classroom or lecture setting. I also loved my company and being able to make new friends. I loved being able to go to the temple and perform baptisms and I loved feeling the Spirit in the historical sites.

I went solo and was worried that I would be on my own all week but after last week I can’t even say I went solo anymore because I met people as soon as I landed and we stayed together until our flights home! I also loved the testimony meeting in the Kirtland temple that was the best experience of my life and I can’t wait to go back next summer!!

Being able to have our testimony meeting in the Kirtland temple and letting the spirit guide my words as I bore my testimony was incredible. Everyone was so fun and inviting in and out of my company.

I loved touring the historic sites, having discussions with my counselor and company and getting to know them. I also loved the devotionals given by our session director and hearing testimony of my counselors, peers, and session directors.

I loved going on all the adventures (repelling, rafting, mountain biking, canyoneering, etc.), getting to know new people/make new friends, and receiving inspiration from the spirit.

Dancing while laughing with friends was so special – I felt the spirit there.

I really really loved my group. All of them genuinely wanted to be there and they all had a lot of light to share. I also really appreciated how much our session director focused on finding parables in everything.

I really enjoyed becoming closer with God and learning how to communicate with Him better.

I loved getting to meet new people who understand my beliefs and how turning to God is. Also anything to do with the session director was automatically a blast

I loved the activities for Mission Ready. After each Tuesday and Wednesday class, we were able to practice sharing the gospel which included having a companion, planning a lesson, and then teaching. Another favorite part of mine was touring the Provo MTC, I could feel the Spirit so strongly there, and I felt a spirit of missionary work on the grounds.
